Frequently Asked Questions
- How does dosing work? Enter your tank's water volume and target parameters, and the app suggests fertilizer dosing as an informational husbandry estimate. Always verify with a test kit and a drop checker, and tune by observation.
- Where is my data stored? Your tanks, readings, dosing plans, photos and logs stay on your device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to our servers.
- How do I delete all my data? Open Settings inside the app, scroll to "Privacy & data" and tap "Delete all data" to permanently remove everything from your device.
- What does Aquascape Journal Pro include? A one-time Lifetime purchase removes ads and unlocks unlimited tanks, the full salt & product database, advanced & custom parameters, multi-parameter charts & insights, the plant deficiency assistant, and CSV & PDF export.
- How do I restore my purchase? Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchase. Pro is tied to your Apple ID.
- Can I change the app language? Yes. Aquascape Journal is localized into 20 languages and follows your iOS language setting.
Privacy Policy

Aquascape Journal is designed as a local-first, private aquarium logbook. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed by the app and by the third-party services used for ads and purchases.
Information You Provide
- Tank profiles, water parameter readings, dosing plans, water-change logs, plants, livestock, maintenance tasks and notes you enter.
- Scape photos you choose to capture or import into the journal.
This content is stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account system and we do not upload your photos or logs to our own server.
Camera and Photo Library
The app asks for camera or photo library access only when you choose to take or import a journal photo. You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
In-App Purchases
Aquascape Journal Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may process payment, purchase history, and account information according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
Advertising
The free version shows Google AdMob banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. AdMob may process identifiers, advertising data, product interaction data, diagnostics, and related data for advertising and measurement. The app requests App Tracking Transparency permission before any tracking; you can decline and still use every feature. Purchasing Aquascape Journal Pro removes all ads.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your photos or journal data for model training or for advertising.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your in-app tanks, readings, plans, photos, and logs remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. You can delete individual items at any time, and you can erase everything at once from Settings → Privacy & data → Delete all data.
Husbandry Disclaimer
Aquascape Journal provides informational husbandry estimates for planted aquariums based on the water volume and values you enter. Dosing figures are not veterinary or medical advice — verify with a test kit and a drop checker, and tune by observation. Store fertilizer salts sealed and away from children and pets.

Personal Hobby Use Only
The app is provided for personal aquarium journaling and husbandry planning. Dosing and parameter guidance are informational estimates only and are not a substitute for your own testing and judgement.
Purchases
Aquascape Journal offers a one-time Lifetime Pro unlock through Apple in-app purchase, which removes ads and unlocks all Pro features. This is a non-consumable purchase tied to your Apple ID and is not an auto-renewing subscription. You can restore it on any device signed in to the same Apple ID.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple according to App Store policies.
Ads
The free version shows ads. Purchasing Aquascape Journal Pro removes ads where technically available in the app.
No Warranty
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, data retention, or any particular outcome for your aquarium.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including livestock or plant loss — arising from use of the app.
