✉ Contact SupportCellarbook is a private wine journal and cellar manager. Add the bottles you own, log tasting notes and ratings for wines you drink, and get a reminder when a bottle enters its ideal drinking window — so you open it at its best, not too early or too late.
No. Cellarbook has no account, no login, and no server. Everything you enter lives on your device. There is no social feed and no marketplace.
Yes — privately. If you're signed in to the same Apple ID (iCloud) on your iPhone and iPad, your cellar syncs automatically through your own private iCloud. Your data is never shared with us or anyone else.
Cellarbook can read a wine label from a photo entirely on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition. The photo and text never leave your iPhone.
The free version lets you build and browse your cellar, log tastings, and export your data as CSV. Cellarbook Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks unlimited bottles, drinking-window reminders, CSV import, full insights, and removes ads.
The free version is supported by ads so the app can stay free. Unlocking Cellarbook Pro removes all ads permanently.

Cellarbook does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or contacts. The bottles, tasting notes, ratings, and photos you add are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, and — if you use iCloud — in your own private iCloud account. We do not operate servers that store your cellar or personal data.
Cellarbook uses Google AdMob to show ads to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for advertising. On first launch we ask, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether you allow tracking; you can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Declining tracking still lets you use every free feature — you'll simply see less-personalized ads. Your cellar contents are never used for advertising.
Cellarbook uses Apple's StoreKit to manage the one-time Cellarbook Pro unlock. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment details.
Your cellar remains on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud account so it can sync across your own devices signed in to the same Apple ID. This is standard Apple CloudKit private-database sync; we have no access to it. Deleting the app removes its local data.
Any bottle or label photos you add stay on your device (and your private iCloud). Label text recognition runs entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Photos are never uploaded to us.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, or health data. We do not sell any data to third parties, and we never share your cellar contents.
Cellarbook concerns alcoholic beverages and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you are in full control — edit or delete any bottle in the app, or remove the app to erase its local data. Under GDPR and CCPA you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
