Frequently Asked Questions
- How does GarageLog calculate fuel economy? It uses your odometer and fill-up volume, and correctly handles full tanks, partial fills, and the occasional missed fill-up so your MPG / L/100km is accurate.
- Can I use miles and gallons — or kilometers and liters? Yes. Units and currency are fully configurable app-wide, and you can override them per vehicle.
- Does it support electric vehicles? Yes. GarageLog tracks kWh and charging costs for EVs alongside gas, diesel, and hybrid vehicles.
- How do reminders work? Set a reminder by mileage, by date, or both — GarageLog warns you whichever comes first and can predict the due date from how you actually drive.
- Where is my data stored? On your device. GarageLog is local-first — there are no accounts and your records are not uploaded to our servers. You can export everything to CSV or PDF at any time.
- What does GarageLog Pro include? Unlimited vehicles, advanced insights and anomaly alerts, smart predictive reminders, CSV & PDF export, and no ads. Available as a one-time Lifetime unlock or a monthly / yearly plan.
- How do I restore my purchase? Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. Pro is tied to your Apple ID.
Privacy Policy

GarageLog is designed as a local-first, private logbook. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed by the app and by the third-party services used for ads and purchases.
Information You Provide
- Vehicle details (name, make, model, year, and an optional photo or VIN you choose to add).
- Fuel, service, and expense records, reminders, notes, and any receipt photos you add.
This content is stored locally on your device. We do not operate an account system and we do not upload your vehicle records, notes, or photos to our own server.
Camera and Photo Library
The app asks for camera or photo library access only when you choose to add a vehicle photo or attach a receipt. You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Notifications
With your permission, GarageLog schedules local notifications to remind you about upcoming maintenance and expiring documents. These reminders are generated on your device.
In-App Purchases
GarageLog Pro is available as a one-time Lifetime purchase or as an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may process payment, purchase history, and account information according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
Advertising
The free version shows Google AdMob banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. AdMob may process identifiers, advertising data, product interaction data, diagnostics, and related data for advertising and measurement. The app requests App Tracking Transparency permission before any tracking; you can decline and still use every feature. Upgrading to GarageLog Pro removes all ads.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your vehicle records, notes, or photos. We do not use your data for model training.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your vehicles, logs, reminders, notes, and photos remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. You can delete individual records or entire vehicles at any time from within the app.

Acceptance of Terms
By using GarageLog, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Personal Use
GarageLog is provided as a personal vehicle logbook and maintenance tracker. Insights, health scores, and reminders are informational estimates based on the data you enter and are not a substitute for professional inspection or advice from a qualified mechanic.
Purchases and Subscriptions
GarageLog Pro is offered as a one-time Lifetime unlock and as auto-renewing monthly and yearly subscriptions through Apple in-app purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. Any free-trial period is forfeited when you purchase Pro. The Lifetime unlock is a non-consumable purchase tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple ID.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple according to App Store policies.
Ads
The free version shows ads. Upgrading to GarageLog Pro removes ads where technically available in the app.
No Warranty
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, data retention, or the accuracy of any estimate, prediction, or reminder.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including missed maintenance or vehicle issues.
